George, I am a "fitness runner"; I run to supplement the exercise I get as a farmer. I have run in races from the Marine Corps Marathon to the C'ville 10-miler, but my joy is the quiet long run on a fall morning in the coves around my farm. Mark Warner, also a farm owner (but very careful not call himself a "farmer") is the first candidate for Virginia's Governor in my memory to commit to providing state funds for the preservation of rural lands.
