All this reminds me of Barney Frank's apt take on the Republicans' attitude toward children: "Life begins at conception and ends at birth."

As a Piedmont Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), I see the needs of children whose parents can't--or won't--provide for their most basic needs. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Republicans were as worried about funding for the one-in-four poor children in this country as they are about the "unborn."
