Dear George-- Tendentious as ever, your characterization of the mayoral race is highly flavored. How about this: July began with the selection of Blake Caravati as Charlottesville's new mayor (mostly the result of a complete about face by David Toscano and Blake Caravati, who had both repeatedly promised to support whoever got to three first). Gridlock? How about movement, change, how about a new direction? After 30 years' opposition to the Meadowcreek parkway, the people finally see their leaders come to grips with transportation and growth in our fair city? Keep up the good work! best, Mary E.
