S.B. (1969) in Civil Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology
S.M. (1973) and Ph.D. (1978) in Environmental Science and Engineering from Harvard University
Citizen Scholar at UVA (1997-present) Attend graduate level courses in Transportation and Traffic Flow Theory to keep current in the Transportation Engineering field.

Related Experience:
Served on the faculties of the VVA Engineering School and McIntire School of Commerce, and in the Science and Technology Program at Piedmont Virginia Community College.

Served as an environmental planner and engineer in the Environmental Division of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Also, assisted the Metropolitan Planning Organizations in Richmond and Petersburg in efforts to ensure that their transportation plans were consistent with meeting Air Quality Standards.

Am currently a member of the Transportation Research Board Transportation Air Quality National Committee.
