Four
candidates have come forth in support of the platform of Democrats for Change.
They are Lelia Brown, Maurice Cox, Peter Kleeman and Kevin Lynch.
According to David RePass, "'the Steering Committee [David
RePass, Chairman, Kevin Burke, Martha Gleason, Greg Jackson, Joy Johnson,
Kevin Lynch, Brent Nelson, Moji Olaniyan, Kay Peaslee, Joe Szakos, John
Wheeler, Priscilla Whiting] has decided NOT to try to narrow this list
to a slate of three [after all]. All 4 will be running, and the choice
of which 3 you want to support should be yours'" (David RePass,
January 21, 2000).
On January 5th, the Democrats for Change sponsored a forum where
a Candidate Survey was taken. It consisted of a series of open-ended questions
and was open to individuals who signed a pledge indicating they would support
DFC's platform.
"'After looking over the questionnaires, no clear choice of
3 [candidates] emerged'" (David RePass, January 21, 2000).
