gone to Washington."

In "a gushing farewell", State Senator Charles L. Waddell (D-Loudoun) said, "All of us know he's an extremely
able senator and somebody who votes his mind".

State Senator John H. Chichester (R-Stafford) said, "Senator Goode has been an institution in the Virginia
Senate....Certainly those of us on this side of the aisle have a special place in our hearts for Virgil Goode."
