Jane Foster was the epitome of beauty. She always took a stand for justice, especially when it addressed injustice experienced by African Americans, as is much too often the case. At the most recent Democratic breakfast meeting in Charlottesville she made it a point to take a seat next to me who may have been the only African American present.

She always asked questions of speakers that expanded the search for truth. She exuded empathy and love and her ideas were creative and encouraging. I'm glad I had an opportunity to know her.
