Wednesday, Jan 8: 11:00 a.m. Miller Center Forum: Double Down: Game Change 2012. Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, authors of Game Change, the bestselling chronicle of the historic 2008 presidential election, discuss their new inside account of the 2012 campaign. Halperin, who has covered seven presidential elections, is an editor at large and a senior political analyst for Time magazine, and a senior political analyst for MSNBC. An award-winning journalist and author of Pride Before the Fall, Heilemann is the national affairs editor for "New York" magazine and a political analyst for MSNBC.

Saturday, January 18: 9:30 a.m. Monthly Democratic Breakfast at the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library (McIntire Room), East Market Street, Charlottesville. The topic will be Mental Health Reform, a subject that has taken on renewed urgency in the Commonwealth. An expert panel will discuss the current state of mental health policy, funding, and ideas for reform.

Wednesday, January 29: 11:00 a.m. Miller Center Forum: When the Greatest Generation Wasn't so Certain. Richard Moe and Lynne Olson discuss their books, Those Angry Days: Roosevelt, Lindbergh, and America’s Fight Over World War II, 1939-1941 and Roosevelt’s Second Act: The Election of 1940 and the Politics of War. Before Olson began writing books full time, she worked more than ten years as a journalist, including stints as Moscow correspondent for the Associated Press and White House correspondent for The Baltimore Sun. Moe served as president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, chief of staff to Vice President Walter Mondale, and on President Jimmy Carter's senior staff. A book signing will follow their Forum.
