The Downtown Transit Center was designed to fulfill the requirements of a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design certified building, under the U.S. Green Buildings Council.

Here we see a Model XL-GR Surface-Mounted Automatic Hand Dryer with Graphite Textured Painted Cover manufactured by the Excel Dryer Corp. Says Excel, "No more repetitive paper towel purchases or labor costs to restock a paper towel dispenser.No more cleaning up the towel mess or servicing the paper towel dispenser." It also eliminates the cost and environmental impact of paper manufacture and transport, as well as the resultant waste to be disposed of.
