Tom Brokaw's career has included many firsts. His exclusive one-on-one interview with Mikhail Gorbachev at the Kremlin. His report on human rights abuses in Tibet. He was the only anchor on the scene the night the Berlin Wall fell.

And, as a recipient of a Connecticut College honorary degree and as Commencement speaker, he attended Matthew Maverick Loper's graduation.
